MEDLINE AND CASMED ANNOUNCE DISTRIBUTION PARTNERSHIP - Monitor features advanced non-invasive blood pressure measurement technology - Branford, CT, June 15, 2011 - Medline Industries, Inc. and CAS Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CASM), today announced a distribution agreement for a co-branded version of CASMED's Model 740 portable vital signs monitor. The monitor will feature CASMED's proprietary Motion Artifact Extraction (MAXNIBPᆴ) technology, the most advanced technology for non-invasive blood pressure measurement. Changes in the hospital environment such as nursing shortages and the need to monitor all areas of the hospital are driving a need for more flexible solutions, said Maroun Abouzeid, President of Medline's Preferred HealthCare Products Division. CASMED brings a wealth of knowledge and innovation that will allow us to expand our diagnostic product offering within the acute care setting. All of these co-branded monitors feature CASMED's NIBP technology which has a proven reputation for fast, accurate blood pressure determinations under the most challenging conditions for patients ranging from neonatal to adult. Oximetry options include Masimo SETᆴ and Nellcorᆴ OxiMaxᆴ, making the monitor a versatile, mobile unit for diverse types of clinical applications, especially in conditions of low perfusion and motion. We are very excited about this new venture between CASMED and Medline, said Matthew J. Herwig, VP of Global Sales and Marketing for CASMED. We believe that Medline's expertise in distribution, specifically to hospitals, surgery centers and physician offices, will expand our market share and open new opportunities for our best-in-class bedside monitor and our patented blood pressure technology.
